Brett Shaw

Brett Shaw earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Iowa and completed additional accounting coursework through City Colleges of Chicago to meet the educational requirements for the CPA exam. He joined Prosperity Partners as an Accounting Intern in 2025 before transitioning to a full-time Accounting Associate in 2026. Brett primarily works with Family Office clients, helping manage bookkeeping operations, track investment performance, monitor expenses, and prepare client deliverable reports. He enjoys the variety of challenges that come with supporting clients’ financial goals, as well as collaborating with teammates to find solutions. Outside of work, Brett enjoys going to the movies, watching reality competition shows, and spending time with his dog, Kiwi.

• Favorite Thing About My Job: I enjoy working with a team that is always willing to collaborate and help one another. Being able to bounce ideas off colleagues, learn from their experience, and work together to solve problems makes the job both rewarding and engaging!
• Desert Island Book: Our Share of Night by Mariana Enriquez. It’s haunting, immersive, and packed with extremely compelling characters.
• Favorite concert you’ve attended: Kesha at the Dubuque County Fair in 2016. I got to watch pig races before the show, secured a front-row spot, and even snapped a selfie with Kesha! Best. Day. Ever.
• Favorite Workout or Sport to Play: Riding Divvy bikes along Chicago’s lakefront. It’s one of the best ways to get around the city while enjoying incredible views of the skyline and Lake Michigan.
• Favorite Movie Quote: Honestly, the entirety of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. If I had to choose, I’d probably end up quoting half the film before settling on just one line.
