Fern Nunes-Cubelo

Fern earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rutgers University and started her career in public accounting at a mid-size New Jersey firm where she gained valuable experience in Accounting, Taxation, and Audit. Before joining Dorfman, Mizrach and Thaler in 2019, she worked as a Controller for 25 years at a family-owned NJ business which had her wearing many hats, including cash flow management, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, payroll & HR management, and local, state, and federal tax compliance. In her current role with Prosperity, she provides CAS services to her clients of varying industries, as well as tax compliance. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, photography, and boating at the Jersey Shore!

• Favorite Vacation you’ve taken: Norway was on my bucket list since 5th grade when I learned about the Fjords and I finally got there for my 50th birthday! We took a small ship from Bergen to Kirkenes in the North and stopped at an array of ports along the way. Fjords, rib boat rides exploring tidal currents, king crab fishing, photographing puffins, crossing the Arctic circle – The Land of the Midnight Sun did not disappoint!

• Favorite way to celebrate your birthday: My birthday falls on or around Memorial Day weekend so if New Jersey weather cooperates, boating, BBQs, and ice cream cake are generally involved!
