Mahendra Joshi

Mahendra Joshi is a seasoned tax professional with over 19 years of experience specializing in U.S. Individual and Fiduciary tax compliance. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Mumbai University, where he built a strong foundation in Accounting, Finance, and Economics. Mahendra began his career at SurePrep, focusing on Individual and Trust tax filings. His dedication and performance quickly earned him a promotion to Tax Reviewer. He also played a key leadership role in the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) department, where he led a team, managed operations, and implemented process improvements. Since 2008, Mahendra has frequently traveled to the United States to support onshore operations, preparing and reviewing complex 1040 and 1041 tax returns. After nearly two decades at SurePrep, he brought his deep expertise and leadership to Prosperity’s VGS team as an Assistant Tax Manager, where he continues to contribute to high-quality tax compliance and team development.

• Favorite thing about my job: What I enjoy most about working in tax is the constant opportunity to learn and evolve. Each client and return bring its own unique challenges, which keeps the work both engaging and intellectually rewarding. I particularly enjoy reviewing complex returns and mentoring junior team members. Sharing my knowledge while also staying up to date with everchanging tax regulations makes this profession both dynamic and deeply fulfilling!
• What is the best dish you can cook? Aloo Paratha
• Favorite vacation you’ve taken? One of my most memorable vacations was a road trip to Las Vegas, which proved to be a truly unforgettable experience!
• Favorite way to celebrate your birthday: Spending the evening with my family at a nice beach.
• What would your last meal be? Misal Pav, a popular Maharashtrian Street food dish.
• Favorite movie quote: “Jo darr gaya, samjho marr gaya” – Translates to “He who got scared is considered dead”.
