Matt Johnsoncpa

After 4 years in the United States Coast Guard, Matt graduated from Lyndon State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. After graduation, he moved to Washington DC where he worked his way to Partner in a CPA firm. Following 12 years in Washington DC, he decided to move back to Vermont, where he currently serves as a Partner at Prosperity. Matt provides tax and estate planning services for high-net-worth individuals, real estate businesses, and real estate investors. During his spare time, Matt can be found spending time with his family or on the golf course.

Favorite thing about my job: Teaching younger staff and watching them evolve in their careers, as well as assisting with estate planning.
Favorite vacation you’ve taken: It’s a tie between Saint Croix where I learned to scuba dive with my oldest daughter and Disney World with the entire family. I loved both, but each was uniquely different.
Favorite concert you’ve attended: It hasn’t happened yet but Morgan Wallen, August 23, 2025 with my wife and daughters at Gilette Stadium!
Favorite workout or sport to play? Golf. I enjoy playing as well as watching.
What is the best dish you can cook? Filet Mignon with baby red potatoes and asparagus.
