Priya Desai

Priya Desai graduated from Mumbai University with a specialization in Accounting and Economics. She began her career at Sure Prep in 2002 as a Tax Preparer. Due to her strong performance and dedication, she was quickly promoted to Tax Reviewer. At Sure Prep, Priya also led a team within the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) department, managing team operations and driving process improvements. Since 2011, she has had the opportunity to work onshore in the United States, frequently traveling to prepare and review individual (1040) and fiduciary (1041) tax returns. After 23 years of dedicated service at Sure Prep, Priya joined Prosperity’s VGS team as an Assistant Tax Manager, bringing extensive experience and leadership in tax preparation and review.

• Favorite thing about my job: One of my favourite aspects of working in tax is the continuous opportunity to learn and grow. Each client and return present a unique challenge, keeping the work engaging and intellectually stimulating. I especially enjoy reviewing complex returns and mentoring junior team members. Sharing my experience while staying current with evolving tax regulations makes the field truly fulfilling for me.
• What is the best dish you can cook? An Indian favorite — Puran Poli.
• Favorite work outing you’ve been on: One of my most memorable work outings was a team-building trip organized by Sure Prep at a scenic resort outside the city. We participated in group activities, workshops, and team games, which helped us bond outside the office, strengthen teamwork, and relax after busy tax seasons. The experience fostered lasting professional relationships and made me value the power of collaboration.
• Favorite way to celebrate your birthday? With my family members.
• Favorite vacation you’ve taken? Visiting my brother’s house in Texas.
