Sandeep Guha

Sandeep completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with a double major in Tax and Accounting. As a dedicated Tax professional since 2019, he finds immense satisfaction in deciphering the complexities of financial regulations to help individuals and businesses navigate their tax obligations efficiently and ethically. Sandeep has developed a strong expertise in preparing individual and trust returns within collaborative environments. He is able to leverage data analysis to drive growth and has hands-on experience with five different tax software programs. He served as a Senior Tax Analyst and ATR Reviewer at Thomson Reuters, a role he held since January 2022. At Thompson Reuters, Sandeep independently managed over half of the e-filing workload, prioritizing returns based on due dates, page count, and domain, while diligently staying updated with current tax provisions. Additionally, he mentored junior team members in creating tax case studies and sorting PDFs for training purposes.

• Favorite thing about my job: The most rewarding aspect of my job is the direct impact I have on my clients’ financial well-being, providing clarity and peace of mind in what can often be a confusing landscape.
• Favorite work outing you’ve been on: Beyond the number-crunching and client meetings, my firm values team cohesion, and the annual work outings are always a highlight. A memorable one was an interactive outdoor badminton tournament followed by a shared meal; it was a great way to bond with colleagues outside of spreadsheets and deadlines. It allowed us to see each other in a different light and fostered a strong sense of camaraderie.
• Favorite vacation you’ve taken: When it’s time to recharge, my favourite vacation was a serene two-week trip to Manali in Himachal Pradesh. The breathtaking mountain scenery offered the perfect escape, blending peaceful hiking during the day with delicious local cuisine in the evenings. The change of pace and majestic views were truly restorative, helping me return to work with a fresh perspective.
• What is your side gig/passion project/hobby? Away from my professional life, my side passion is reading lit classics and painting. These hobbies are wonderful creative outlets that contrast nicely with the abstract nature of tax consulting.
• Favorite workout or sport to play: To maintain balance and fitness, my favourite workout is trail running. The varied terrain and connection with nature provide an invigorating challenge that clears my head and keeps me energized for both my work and my hobbies!
