Chicago

Tyler McIntyre graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Accounting in December of 2010. Post graduation, Tyler spent five years as an associate at a Regional Accounting Firm in central Iowa. There, he gained valuable experience preparing financial statements, performing bookkeeping, and preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses. Outside of accounting, Tyler has held a wide variety of jobs…from teaching English in Japan, to working on a tourist boat in the Caribbean, to building rainforest trails in a tree house village in the jungles of Costa Rica! Tyler has since been domesticated and enjoys exercising, mowing the lawn, and bathtime with his new infant daughter.

EXPERTISE: Small business bookkeeping and simple tax return preparation

  • Favorite Thing About My Job: As cliché as it sounds, what drew me to this company is the people. I have felt welcomed and supported from day one. As a fully remote employee, I was initially concerned with feeling disconnected from my coworkers. However, I have found intercompany communication to be top notch and find myself working with kind, helpful, and knowledgeable folks daily.
  • Desert Island Book: “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl
  • What is your passion? As odd as it may sound being a cornfed Iowa farm boy, I found surfing at 20 years old, and it has captured my heart and soul!
  • Favorite Concert you’ve attended: Dave Matthews Band at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. An incredible natural setting that allows for worldclass acoustics.
  • Last meal: Anything my wife cooks. Being born and raised in Japan, my wife Haruka often makes our kitchen smell like we never left her hometown.
  • Favorite Workout: With a little one in the house, it is harder to get to the gym as often as I would like. When I do, you will find me under the barbell doing squats, bench press, and dead lifts.
